About
Trina Armstrong is a PhD Candidate in Practical Theology, Spiritual Care and Counseling at Claremont School of Theology. Trina holds a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the Claremont School of Theology, a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from California Southern University, and a B.S. in Information Systems from Golden Gate University.
Trina’s research intersects with practical theology, inter/multigenerational post-trauma psychology and healing among historically marginalized persons and communities.
Trina is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME). She is an Associate Minister at First AME Church in Pasadena and she works professionally as a Hospice Chaplain for Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. Trina has worked as a Counseling intern at a methadone clinic, and a pastoral counselor to homeless families, formerly incarcerated women,and at-risk youth.
Trina holds professional membership in the American Academy of Religion, Society of Pastoral Theology, Association of Practical Theology, American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and the American Association of Marriage and Family therapist.
Trina has a beautiful college-age daughter and an adorable Shih Tzu.
